SnapPDF ("the app", "we", "us") is a PDF scanner, editor, and converter published by Appmetrics. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your data. In short: SnapPDF has no account and no server. Your documents and images are processed on your device and are not uploaded to us.
No account, no sign-in
SnapPDF does not require you to create an account or sign in. We do not collect your name, email address, or contacts.
Your documents stay on your device
When you scan, import, edit, or convert a file, all of that work happens locally on your device. The PDFs and images you create are saved to your device storage (the Documents/SnapPDF folder) or to a location you choose. We do not receive, upload, or store copies of your files, and we cannot see their contents.
Permissions we request
- Camera — only to capture pages when you use the document scanner or ID-card scanner. Camera images are processed on-device to build your PDF.
- Photos and media (images) — only to let you pick images you choose to turn into a PDF. We access only the images you select; we do not scan your photo library in the background.
You can decline or revoke these permissions in your device Settings at any time. Features that need a permission simply won't run until you grant it; the rest of the app keeps working.
Advertising
SnapPDF is free and supported by ads served through Google AdMob. To show ads, Google's advertising SDK may collect your device's advertising ID and related device information, and may use it to personalize ads. This data is handled by Google, not by us. See Google's policies:
- How Google uses data: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
- Google Advertising ID: https://support.google.com/googleplay/android-developer/answer/6048248
Consent (EEA / UK): Where required, SnapPDF shows a Google-certified consent form (UMP) before any ads load, and only requests ads after you respond. You can change your choice later from the app's settings.
You can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time in Settings → Google → Ads on your device.
What we collect
| Data | Collected by | Purpose | Leaves your device? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Advertising ID + ad-related device info | Google AdMob SDK | Show and measure ads | Yes — to Google |
| Your documents, scans, and images | Nobody | Create PDFs on-device | No |
| Name / email / account | Nobody | — | No account exists |
We do not sell your personal information.
Sharing
The only third party involved is Google, for advertising, under the terms linked above. We do not share your files or personal data with anyone.
Data retention
Because there is no account and no server, we hold no personal data to retain or delete. The files you create live on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app. Advertising data held by Google is governed by Google's own retention policies.
Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
You have the right to access, delete, and control your data. In SnapPDF this is direct: your content is on your device, so you control it entirely — delete files from the app or your file manager, revoke permissions in Settings, and reset your advertising ID as described above. For advertising data held by Google, use the Google links above. If you have questions, contact us below.
Children
SnapPDF is intended for a general audience (ages 13 and up). It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles data (for example, if we add optional analytics or a subscription in a future version), we will update this page and change the "Last updated" date above.
